We protect animals in crisis worldwide.
We rescue animals in emergencies and preserve wildlife habitats across the globe.

Our Rescue Team Stands Ready to Help Anywhere in the World
We provide emergency funding and support to ensure quick response when disasters strike. After the devastating earthquake and tsunami hit Japan in 2011, we traveled to the affected areas to meet with local animal care leaders and provide essential support for local rescue organizations.
When war began in Ukraine we helped the lost, frightened and hungry animals by supporting critical, on-the-ground efforts in animal shelters, wildlife centers and refugee centers. And when a disastrous earthquake shook the Turkey-Syria region in 2023, we supported local organizations to provide disaster relief and help rebuild.

Real-World Impact, One Species at a Time
The Global Humane Conservation Fund of Africa, a key initiative of Global Humane Society, tackles Africa’s unique conservation challenges while promoting a thriving future for its iconic wildlife and ecosystems.
Through rewilding efforts, community collaborations and innovative conservation projects, the fund advances Global Humane Society’s mission to protect species, preserve biodiversity and expand natural habitats.
A Bold Vision for a New Biodiversity Corridor in Africa

Global Humane Society is making history in South Africa’s Eastern Cape — a landscape brimming with opportunity for wildlife restoration. In collaboration with Wilderness Foundation Africa, Conservation Landscape Institute and local partners, we are breaking down barriers, restoring critical habitats and rewilding a once-fragmented ecosystem.
This is more than conservation — it’s a transformational step toward a thriving, interconnected wilderness. By expanding protected lands and reintroducing key species, we are securing a future where elephants, black rhinos, lions and cheetahs can once again roam freely.
The Eastern Cape is on the verge of something extraordinary. It’s the dawn of a new era for Africa’s wild spaces. In time, we hope to expand critical habitats and preserve wildlife for generations to come.
